Taurus Moon is the Medford-based duo of Marissa Joan and Jim Sitter; a meeting of deep, soulful vocals and rich instrumentation that draws from jazz, folk, and rock without belonging entirely to any of them. Taurus Moon's songwriting is as authentic as Marissa’s voice is striking. The kind of original material that feels like it's been around forever, in the best possible way. Think the sultry, unhurried phrasing of a classic jazz vocalist with musical roots that run through folk and rock, both familiar and completely their own at the same time. An evening with Taurus Moon is the kind of thing that sneaks up on you.
